KFC Thailand says sorry for tsunami Facebook #fail

KFC Thailand has apologized for a Facebook post during the tense tsunami warning hours Wednesday that urged fans to go home and eat some fried chicken while following the breaking news.

“Let’s hurry home and follow the earthquake news. And don’t forget to order your favorite KFC menu,” the fast food chain posted to its 350,000 Facebook fans as a tsunami warning was in effect for nearly every country on the Indian Ocean, the AP reported. At the same time, people were being evacuated from the beaches of Southern Thailand.

Many irate commenters on Thai forums and social media denounced KFC Thailand for being callous and profiteering. KFC Thailand removed the post and expressed “sincere regret” with a new one yesterday.
