Sukhumbhand is officially Bangkok’s governor

The Election Commission (EC) has voted four-to-one to endorse MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra’s second term as governor.

As reported yesterday, the EC had failed to conclude its investigation into allegations of electoral fraud within the allowed, 30-day period, therefore easing Sukhumbhand’s accession.

The Nation reports that the EC will continue its investigations despite today’s endorsement and report later to the Central Appeals Court if it finds sufficient evidence of wrongdoing.
