Bubba Watson is ‘here to win’ Thailand Golf Championship

Bubba Watson, the American left hander who won the Masters in April, will be hoping to end his tremendous season on a high, with a victory at the Thailand Golf Championship, which starts today.

Bubba’s win at Augusta in April was the first major win of his career and came weeks after he decided to adopt a son, Caleb.
Watson is ranked twelfth in the world and the Thailand Championship is only the second time he has played in Asia after he made his debut at the WGC-HSBC Champions in China last month.

The 34-year old is a self taught golfer who claims to have never had a golf lesson in his life. He is also the star of a YouTube hit “GolfBoys” Video.

Watson is still ranked among the favorites, even though he comes to Thailand with a lot of new equipment in his golf bag that he needs to break in before the 2013 PGA Tour Season starts in a few weeks.

Bubba is the biggest hitter on the PGA tour. The course at Amata Spring, Chonburi and spectators at the event are in for a treat as “BubbaGolf” rolls into town.

In an interview with ESPN, Bubba discussed the seriousness with which he is taking the Thailand Golf Championship.

“I’m here to win,” he said. “That’s everybody’s goal. I’m not here to wave at everybody.”
