Pasay Court sentences Malaysian to life for drugs

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said yesterday that a Malaysian national who has been arrested in 2010 for smuggling shabu into the country has been meted a life sentence by a Pasay City court.

Judge Racquelen Abary-Vasquez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 116 found How Eng Pheow, 43, guilty of transporting 9.9 kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride was sentenced with lifetime imprisonment.

Pheow was also ordered to pay a fine of P500,000. The Philippine Star reported that How Eng Pheow was arrested in June 2010 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. He hid the shabu inside his luggage.
