Chiang Mai Zoo counts down to birth of new baby panda, again

It’s been one week since baby-bear’s “any minute” arrival was announced, and we’re still on panda watch.

Counting the days until the new panda is born, the veterinarian team at Chiang Mai zoo said yesterday it is working closely with mama-bear Lin Hui all day and night in preparation of her birth.

Soon comes the panda naming contest? We might as well start thinking of a few Chinese words we know now.

Lin Hui started to show her motherly instinct and mimic the position of giving birth. She sleeps longer, and her hormones have decreased to a rate of satisfaction.

Chiang Mai Zoo reveals they will perform an ultrasound on Lin Hui with a new high-technology machine from a private sector to get a better look at the baby in the womb.

And what Thai would not involve with superstitions? Chiang Mai governor reveals he has visited three shrines and prayed for Lin Hui to have a safe birth and may the new baby Panda be a gift that brings Thai citizens together, MThai reported.
