Poorly maintained equipment has been blamed for the deaths of two police cadets yesterday, who plunged to their deaths when their chutes failed to open.
Investigators today said damage to the lines responsible for opening the chutes caused them to fail, killing police cadets Chayakorn Putthachaiyong and Natthawut Tirasuwansuk as their families watched.
The plane used for the jump had been in service 18 years, but its parachute system had recently undergone repairs, Sanook reported.
