After the recent controversy surrounding the Facebook posts of the winner of Miss Thailand Universe, former contestant Fongpikul ‘Top’ Thonglim, who was kicked out the competition for a harmless naughty tweet, has accused the judges of bias.
Weluree ‘Fai’ Disayabut, a Strawberry Cheesecake TV show’s MC and a channel 3 actress, was crowned Miss Thailand Universe Saturday and Top has accused Fai of using her connections to win.
Fai’s past social network activities, using foul language and calling red shirts “dirty”, were recently criticized online.
Also, people think Fai lacked the required qualifications to win the contest and they view her as undeserving to represent Thai women in the international beauty contest.
But now there is a new topic being discussed: how come Fai did not receive the same punishment as Top?
Top, considered one of the favorites to win the pageant, was disqualified after the committee found out she tweeted penis photos for fun.
“I didn’t know better, too. How come none of them gave me a chance?” Top commented on a Facebook post about Fai’s scandal.
Pranom Thaworndech, the director of the Miss Thailand Universe competition, denied they selected Fai because of business connections, and her social network activities were only posting Facebook posts, while Top posted inappropriate photos.
Pranom says the committee is happy with Fai as Thailand’s representative to compete in Miss Universe and denied Top’s punishment is a case of double-standards, Sanook reported.
