Just as the third placed Miss Thailand Universe apologised to the public for her scandalous sexy photos, a piece of her crown decided it was bored of the drama and dropped to the ground in the middle of an interview with famous anchor Sorayuth Suthassanachinda.
This is by far the most popularly mocked, memed and discussed moment on Thai television in the past year.
Sunannipar ‘Nampetch’ Kritsanasuwan was forced to talk about her broken crown on Instagram and explain exactly what happened.
“About the crown, so many people want to know what happened that day. The crown was damaged during the delivery to contest, and the Miss Thailand Universe committee was aware of its condition,” Nampetch wrote on Instagram, “The crown was crafted in the shape of Saket, the Thai fabric print, so it’s bigger than last year and very fragile.”
“We had to use the crown for the contest and press conference before repairing it. It has been repaired last night,” Nampetch added.
