Ed Ministry: Make homework easier

Students can rejoice after the Ministry of Education issued new guidelines calling for easier homework in schools across the nation.

According to an Aug. 28 announcement titled “Code of Conduct regarding student homework,” education officials outlined the following points:

1. “Teachers must assign appropriate homework for students. Homework should not be too hard or excessive. Group work is encouraged.”

2. “School administrators must oversee the curriculum and the appropriateness of homework issued. If students are discovered to cheat or hire homework completion services, they should be punished accordingly.”

3. “School administrators must provide extra classes for students without a fee to aid slower students.”

4. “District attendants must monitor schools’ homework demands closely.”

The new code was issued as a response to the recent homework completion service controversy which brought attention to homework shops online. Perhaps the Ministry thought that if they made homework easier, such services would disappear.
