Necromancy trafficking ring busted in Chiang Mai

An ominous 13 suspects face criminal charges for their role in a body-parts trafficking ring.

Police plan to file criminal charges against a temple undertaker, his wife and 10 suspected accomplices over a stockpile of human remains recovered last week from Wat Huai Din Jee in Chiang Mai province.

But first police must wait for the results of forensic examinations of 19 people parts discovered in plastic bags there.

The 13 suspects will be likely be charged with illegal disposal of body parts without a license, according to Thai PBS.

What about going after the temple’s abbot, Chalerm Duangpaeng, who confessed to burying a dead infant ritualistically wrapped in gold foil in keeping with pre-Buddhist necromantic traditions? The one accused of using dead baby bodies for his black magic?

Police said they can’t file charges against him.
