The transgender woman who killed her roommate’s Chihuahua puppy “Deli” by throwing it out of the window of a fifth-floor apartment in Lad Phrao said she did it out of anger when the puppy pooped all over the floor.
Yonlada Jampasi, 22, told Thairath TV yesterday she had felt “stifled” after Deli’s owner Maeyanee Sitthisuk, 23, moved into her apartment in Lad Prao Soi 122 about ten days ago, and messed up her apartment.
“The puppy peed on the carpet. It was smelly. I told her [Maeyanee] not to put the dog in our bed, but she was being stubborn,” Yonlada said.
“She was like ‘Can we make a barrier with a side pillow?’ and I was like ‘No! This is my bed. This is a bed for people.’”
Yonlada admitted she threw the dog out of the window on Monday night when she came home to find dog poop all over the floor.
“Well, I’m guilty. That day I came back to see dog’s poop. I wiped it off and threw it [the dog] out the window. That’s what happened. I’m sorry.”
“I was not completely mean. I gave her [Maeyanee] money to buy dog food. But I was so tired. I didn’t want to come back to my room to the dog’s smell,” Yonlada added.
Deli died when she was thrown from the apartment window and landed on the roof of the second floor.
Yonlada has been charged with animal abuse and malicious damage after Maeyanee posted horrific photos of the dead dog online, drawing attention from animal activists and the public.
Yonlada could face five years in prison and a fine of THB10,000 maximum for the two charges, Thairath reported.
