Don Mueang Terminal 2 “Sleep Box” service to open next week

Don Mueang Terminal 2 is preparing to launch its new hotel service “Sleep Box” on March 8, its official opening date.

Sleep Box comprises of 15 sq.m. hotel rooms with ensuite bathrooms, and is set to serve flyers who have to wait for late-night flights, said Nitinai Sirimatthakarn, Airports of Thailand director, according to Thai PBS.

Passengers will be charged at an hourly rate. The prices have not been revealed.

Nitinai said there would eventually be 25 sleep boxes but just five will initially be available.

Then again, Terminal 2 only serves domestic passengers of low-cost airlines, whose flights are approximately one hour long.

Terminal 2 unofficially opened on Christmas Eve to handle the increased number of flyers during the holiday. It is expected to accommodate 30 million passengers per year.
