Fake orange juice, dyed sushi, and now this?! Thailand residents can add cendol, or lod chong dessert to the list of food they should no longer buy from the streets.
These photos of lod chong, stored in filthy old buckets, were circulated across the web yesterday. It’s rumored that these lod chong were from a fresh market in Hat Yai district, Songkhla.
Social media users were enraged and condemned the lod chong vendor, who they say should have adopted safer hygiene practices before opening a dessert business.
Today, Hat Yai Mayor Prai Pattano, said that the district has not been able to locate the venue in the photo, but he has instructed health officials to inspect all fresh markets in the area to make sure the hygiene is up to standards, Morning News reported.
