For those who want to Instagram their cold snaps from a mountain top, the bad news is that officials have banned taking selfies at dangerous locations on cliffs.
The ban was implemented just as Thais nationwide are flocking to the mountains in the north to experience the rare winter breeze, and some people have obviously been taking selfies that could put them at risk, Thai PBS reported.
Gen. Surasak Kanchanarat, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, said he has instructed staff at all national parks in Thailand to forbid selfies at dangerous points in the sea and on the mountains, especially Pa Diew Dai, Kew Mae Pan, and Phu Chi Fah.
Signs have been put up to warn tourists.
