Thailand and Malaysia have considered pitching a joint bid to host the 2024 Olympics, according to the kingdom’s top athletics official.
Thailand’s Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul said she had discussed the possibility of hosting the quadrennial event with Malaysian Minister Khairy Jamaluddin while both were traveling in the United States.
The two also discussed their interest in hosting the World Cup, according to Bangkok Post.
Last year Tokyo was tapped for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, and this year begins the nearly three-year process for deciding who will host 2024.
