Thailand Post offers to pay for broken film award

Thailand Post, the national mail carrier infamous for smashing, tearing, bending, burning, breaking and just totally losing packages, does often apologize for doing these things.

Most recently, it responded to say it would take responsibility for an indie film director’s shattered film award sent from Germany.

After director Nawapol “Ter” Thamrongrattanarit shared photos of his shattered “New Talent Award” from Filmfest Hamburg, someone with the organization today tweeted to say it would take responsibility if it can be proven the award was broken in their system.

The package was reportedly shipped via DHL until it was handled by Thailand Post once inside the kingdom.

“Thailand Post did not ignore the incident and has reached out to Nawapol for more information,” the letter said, “The package was shipped by both DHL and Thailand Post. However, if the item was damaged by us, we will pay for the damage.”

So, how do you calculate your lifetime achievement into Thai baht?
