One day there was a village in Nakhon Si Thammarat’s Noppitam District, and the next day there was nothing.
One small town called Ban Na Khao Lang was completely demolished by the runoff waters from the receding flood and landslides from nearby Khao Lang Mountain.
Thammarong Maneechote, head of Klong Sa Tambon organization, led a visit to the site that used to be Ban Na Khao Lang yesterday.
They discovered that every house, building and business in the 100 rai area had been destroyed and all that was left was debris and leveled trees and power poles, reported Thai PBS.
It was said that flooding happened so quickly that the villages were shocked and unprepared.
It is unknown where the displaced families will go.
Nakhon Si Thammarat is one of the worst-hit provinces by the flash floods. About a million people in Southern Thailand have been affected.
