Police shield Nui, a confessed child serial killer, during Monday’s re-enactment of his Dec. 6 murder near the BTS Bearing station in Bangkok.
The confessed serial killer-rapist known only as Nui now says he raped and murdered two more girls in the days after strangling 6-year-old Cartoon to death in Bangkok.
The 36-year-old man, who has been linked to a growing list of atrocities since his Sunday arrest in Nong Khai, said he killed one girl in Bangkok and another in Prachin Buri province between Dec. 6 and 9.
Police are seeking evidence of his subsequent confessions, including three young victims he sexually assaulted in Loei province, one of which he is said to have killed.
Two months after being released from prison on child abduction charges last year, Nui found work as a roadie with a luk thung band, traveling Thailand since mid-November 2012.
“We are trying to find out if he has committed more crimes in other areas, especially in areas his employer – a mor lam band – has staged performances,” Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lt-General Camronwit Toopgrajank said.
It was during one of those shows on Dec. 6, near the BTS Bearing station, that Nui allegedly abducted Cartoon while she rested in a pickup truck before strangling and raping the 6-year-old. Nine days later, her remains were found not far away and Nui was arrested after someone identified him in the northeast.
Since he joined the band, it has toured through 28 locations for shows, The Nation reported.
