Certainly the idea of Singkran has inspired many to consider flying to Singapore next month, if only they could get passports.
Despite attempts to make it less of a nightmare, obtaining a Thai passport remains an exercise of luck and patience. Starting from Monday, 1,000 applicants per day can try their luck at a temporary locationcan at Esplanade Cineplex on Ratachadapisek Road.
The Department of Consular Affairs will a open temporary office there tomorrow on the third floor.
Passport seekers can also attempt to make an online reservation, but they are also in limited availability.
While one hand giveth, the other taketh away: From Friday, the passport offices at Bang Na and Pinklao locations will stop providing service for online reservations.
