A Maxim pageant finalist from 2013 shared her rage in a video rant over her frustration toward Chinese tourists Thursday after a load of mainlanders cut in front of her at the tax refund line in the airport in Seoul.
Many have stated support for the video, which on YouTube has been watched more than 700,000 times while a Facebook version with English subs and 17,000 likes, which appears taken at the scene of the social crime by “Jhaky Maxim.”
“There are many people from other countries queuing,” Jhaky says in Thai. “Then a Chinese tour landed and the line became a mess like this. What is this?!”
Jhaky’s statement captures the trend of frustration and animosity openly expressed toward Chinese tourists in Thailand, where stories, photos and videos of “inappropriateness” – however insignificant – seem to percolate through social media on a near-daily basis.
Over the weekend Thai netizens went apoplectic over images of a Chinese tourist washing their feet in a public restroom at a national park on Koh Phi Phi.
