BREAKING: Police arrest Bangkok bombing suspect

A 28-year-old foreign man believed to be involved in the deadly Ratchaprasong bombing was arrested at an apartment in Bangkok’s Nong Chok district this afternoon.

The suspect, who reportedly uses a fake Turkish passport under the name Adem Karadag, was caught around 1:30pm today after over 100 police and soldiers raided his room at Poon Anan Apartment in Soi Cheum Sampan 11.

Officials found bomb-making materials including ball bearings that could have been used in the attack at Ratchaprasong Junction on Aug. 17, police spokesman Prawut Thawornsiri said.

His nationality has not been confirmed. The suspect is currently being questioned, JS100 and Nation TV reported.

The explosion at Erawan Shrine, a popular destination for Asian tourists, killed 20 and injured at least 120 people on the evening of August 17.
