The man who police say confessed to raping 10 children and killing four received another life sentence after being convicted in a second trial.
Nui, who does not have a last name, was sentenced by the Criminal Court yesterday to life imprisonment for raping and killing a 4-year-old girl in Loei province in February, 2013.
Nui reportedly lured the victim, whose name was withheld, from a charity event and told her he would buy her snacks before he raped and strangled her to death.
His punishment was commuted to life in light of his confession, Daily News reported.
In March 2014, his life was spared by the Phra Khanong Provincial Court after he confessed to raping and killing 6-year-old “Cartoon” near BTS Bearing in December 2013.
Nui dominated headlines in December 2013 when the search for a 6-year-old girl who disappeared near BTS Bearing led to his arrest and subsequent revelations he was a serial rapist and murderer. Psychological evaluation found he was mentally disturbed and was a victim of childhood sexual abuse.
His arrest prompted police to change their 24-hour waiting policy before a child could be reported missing.
Out of 10 victims he reportedly confessed to raping and/or killing since 2008, Nui was only charged in two cases for which police could find evidence.
Nui will go face one more trial on Oct. 1 relating to the November 2013 disappearance of a 7-year-old boy from a temple in Loei province, which Nui has denied of any involvement in, according to JS100.
